Abstract

"This book discusses bounded rationality in two different areas: industrial organisation and political economy. The early chapters link two strands of economics literature which have evolved separately so far: evolutionary economics and evolutionary game theory. They present new developments in dynamic analysis of evolutionary games and apply these results to economic questions in industrial organisation. The chapter on political economy derives a rationale for government by representative assemblies and develops this rationale rigorously. The suggested mathematical model explains empirical findings on parliament sizes in Europe."
